From the Cornell Assemblies
Whereas the university is considering a proposal from the Calendar Committee to revise the current academic structure.
Whereas the proposal promotes a mental health objective of more frequent and uniformly distributed breaks for the campus community and includes a recommendation of two new staff holidays with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and president’s Day.
Whereas the addition of these days off will support the family work/life balance for staff with childcare concerns during these holidays.
Resolved the Employee Assembly strongly and enthusiastically endorses the recommendation of the Calendar Committee to include two additional staff holidays in addition to the already scheduled staff holidays.
Respectfully Submitted,
Tanya Grove
