Education Committee Meeting Minutes

The committee developed a list of priorities for the coming months. To begin, the committee will collect data about the status of the educational benefit policy and is inviting Maureen Brull for her input and expertise to our next meeting. To better facilitate the time, �
the group developed a series of questions to give her beforehand:

- What are the usage rates for each employee educational program?
- Are all the education benefits identified on the Human Resources website?
- What issues does Maureen �and/or Human Resources encounter that she would like to change or improve?
- What is the outreach strategy?
- How do our benefits compare to other colleges?
- Is Bane Consulting looking at this benefit within the context of the Reimagining Cornell initiative?
- How are policies changed/implemented?
- How much does this policy cost the university?

Other priorities include:
- Define our stakeholders and their needs (employees, their children, university finance, etc)
- Understand the policy and analyze it for clarity. (Kristen)
- Collect the history of the EA Ed committee (Gary)
- Idea Bank Issues
- Tuition credit/ reimbursement rates
- Idea Bank is an archive of ideas or issues that come up during a meeting that are not necessarily relevant to the current agenda, but should be retained for future discussion.
