The mission of Human Ecology is to improve the human condition through an inter-disciplinary lens. You are able to concentrate in these different aspects of biology through the Human Development, Human Biology and Health and Society, or Fiber Science and Apparel Design majors. Personally as a Human Development major, I have borne witness to the college’s flexibility. Human Development is a multidisciplinary field that spans across all segments of the life course; my coursework has allowed me to consider development through psychological, social, cultural, and biological approaches. I am equipped to represent my college because of my strong commitment to Human Ecology’s educational mission and the qualities that I bring forth. I have been able to demonstrate my ability to collaborate with others and generate fresh and innovative ideas and take leadership roles through my participation in a variety of previous extra curricular activities in high school such as student government and mentoring. These past experiences have taught me how to connect and communicate effectively, quickly adapt to unforeseen circumstances, and have encouraged me to consistently deliver on my commitments.
