As discussed Monday, 26 February 2007.

Whereas the graduate and professional student elected trustee plays an important role in communicating the needs of the graduate and professional student body to the Cornell University Board of Trustees and the Senior Cornell Administration, and;

Whereas in the past the GPSA and the graduate and professional student trustees have worked on many issues in tandem to much success.

Be it therefore resolved that section 4.7 of the Graduate & Professional Student Assembly Charter be changed to read:

4.7 EX-officio members

All matriculated Cornell University graduate and professional students are considered non-voting members of the GPSA, and are encouraged to attend and participate in meetings. The graduate and professional student elected trustee is welcome to attend all meetings and special events of the GPSA and have speaking privileges equal to voting members of the GPSA, but shall not have voting privileges. The GPSA may designate ex-officio members. The President will appoint one member of the administration to serve as a consultant to the GPSA at its meetings.

Be it further resolved that this resolution be sent to Student Elected Trustees Doug Mitarotonda and Mao Ye.

Respectfully Submitted,
