Resolution 9

R.9: Supporting the creation of a student judicial council

Resolved, First, that the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly support the creation of a Student Judicial Council to work towards cohesion among the various branches of the university judicial system in which students serve and to provide a centralized forum for student members to work towards the betterment of the system.

Resolved, Second, that the Student Judicial Council be comprised of all graduate and professional student members of the Peer Review Board (PRB), Academic Integrity Hearing Boards (AIHB) and the University Hearing and Review Boards (UHRB). The PRB, the AIHB and the UHRB will work through the Council to create a centralized application system, a joint training session, and standardization of practice.

Resolved, Third, that the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly affirms the recommendation of the Student Assembly that the council be additionally comprised of all student members of the Greek Judicial Board (GJB) and that the GJB works through the Council to create a centralized application system, a joint training session, and standardization of practice for student members.

Resolved, Finally, that the GPSA will send a copy of this resolution to Kent Hubbell, Dean of Students, Alison Power, Dean of the Graduate School, Alex Cowen, SA Parliamentarian, and Rammy Salem, SA President.
