Revision of Resolution 6

Adopted on Wednesday, 11 May 2011.

Rationale:

Out of necessity, this is the first electronic ballot that the GPSA has undertaken. In issue, the GPSA submitted Resolution 6 Regarding the Changes to the GPSA Charter and Bylaws to the President of the University. On his authority, the document was passed to the Cornell University’s Counsel’s office for suggested changes. We received the suggested changes two weeks ago after the GPSA has recessed for the year. Additionally, with the complicated task of scheduling a meeting when our members are taking finals, travelling abroad, and potentially moving on to new endeavors, the Executive Committee explored options outside of holding a new meeting to discuss these matters. Due to the changes that the Counsel suggested, we were comfortable with enacting an electronic vote to amend the initial charter language. I will not be speaking in favor or opposition to any of these changes.

Motion:

To amend Resolution 6. Revisions to the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly Charter and Bylaws with the language identified below for the specific sections.
