Resolution 2: A Resolution Approving the GPSA Bylaws for the 2012-2013 Terms

WHEREAS, The Graduate and Professional Student Assembly (“GPSA”) Bylaws (the “Bylaws”) state that: “The revised GPSA Bylaws is to be presented as a resolution at the second meeting of the current GPSA term for approval.” (3.03(d)(vii)): therefore be it

RESOLVED,

(a) That the Bylaws amended�

(1) in 3.02(d) by inserting a new section to read “Select and coordinate representatives to the National Association of Graduate and Professional Students (NAGPS) National Conference and Regional Summit, and other NAGPS events pertinent to the Cornell GPSA” after 3.02(d)(xv) and renumber later sections accordingly; and

(2) in 3.08(d)(i) by striking “the Graduate and Professional Student Resource List” and inserting “the GPSA Student Advocacy Resource List”; and

(3) in 3.08(d)(i) by striking “Student Advocacy Committee” and inserting “GPSA”; and

(4) in 3.08(d)(ii) by striking “an open town hall meeting, at least one per year” and inserting “at least one open meeting held in ‘town hall’ or similar format”; and

(5) in 3.08(d)(ii) by striking “town hall”.

(6) in 3.09(a) striking “6.04” and inserting “6.02”.

(7) in 3.09 by striking (c ) and (d); and inserting in 3.09(c ) “The Graduate and Professional Student Programming Board (GPSPB) shall maintain its own charter and budget. Amendments to that charter require the approval of the GPSA.”

(b) That the Bylaws are adopted for the 2012—2013 GPSA term.

(c ) That the revised Bylaws be sent to the Office of Assemblies for posting on the GPSA website.

(d) That a copy of this resolution be sent to Peggy Beach, Director of the Office of Assemblies and Kent Hubbell, Dean of Students and advisor to the GPSA.
