Closing Remarks / Additional Planning:
1. This was an additional meeting that was called because the FC was unable to review all of the 82 applications they received the previous week.
a. The chair had divided up the remaining applications between the members and requested that they review them and come to the meeting with notes. However, due to the volume of applications, time constraints, and questions about the funding process, this task had not been completed.
b. Members spent the first part of the meeting finishing reviewing their allocated applications and asking questions about the funding guidelines.
c. The FC spent the second part of the meeting hearing summaries of the applications and individual members’ recommendations. Each application was briefly discussed and an allocation decided upon.
2. It was agreed that the FC would endeavor not to allocate more than $50k in the October funding cycle, as there was only c.$81k left in the funds after the April allocations.
a. It was decided that the remainder of the available funding should be split between the November and December funding cycles, and students should be informed that they would have to submit SPRs for Spring events in the fall.
b. In order to move as close as possible to the $50k allocation cap (between the 10/4 and 10/12 meetings), it was agreed that a 5% cut should be applied to all annual budgets reviewed in this meeting, as had been done previously in the April funding cycle.
3. The FC wanted to fund the Cornell Contemporary Chamber Players, Proyecto Palante, and VET - Animal Behavior Club SPRs, but was unable due to lack of funds. It was agreed that the FC would review these SPRs again the following month.
