SA: S.A. Resolution #32: Blue Light Survey

Sponsored by: Sarah Balik ‘15 & Ross Gitlin ‘15

Whereas, the Cornell University Police Department runs Cornell University’s Blue Light Escort Service which is available from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. every night

Whereas, the Blue Light Escort Service has the purpose of escorting students all over campus in an effort to create a safe and supportive environment

Whereas, the Blue Light Escort Service has the purpose of responding to students in need of help.

Whereas, the Safety Task Force of the Student Assembly feels that it needs viable data to assess the need on campus to further aid the CUPD in its mission.

Whereas, an accurate way to assess the knowledge of this service in the student body is to send out a survey.

Be it therefore resolved, that the Student Assembly supports the initiative to send the attached survey to all undergraduate students asking about their previous knowledge and/or opinion on the Blue Light Service in order for the Safety Task Force to act to resolve this problem.

Respectfully Submitted,

Sarah Balik ‘15
