UA: R. 6 Resolution in Support of Transportation Impact Mitigation Strategies

As amended in response to President Skorton Wednesday, 28 November 2007.

Whereas, the Cornell University Community and the global environment will benefit from accomplishing transportation of its members with less fuel and land dedicated to the operation and daily storage of motor vehicles,

Be it therefore resolved by the Cornell University Assembly that:

1) The University Assembly supports the objective, principles, and general strategies summarized in the below summary of the Transportation Impact Mitigation Strategy presented to us by the Cornell Transportation and Mail Services Department.
2) As specified in the Charter, the University Assembly will continue to exercise its legislative authority over policies which guide the activities of the Department of Transportation and Mail Services.
3) The University Assembly will combine the viewpoints and judgment of the faculty, staff, undergraduate students and graduate and professional students at Cornell with the guidance provided by the TIMS summary in weighing the merits of proposed improvements in transportation during the next ten years.
