UA: Resolution 3. Recommendation for University-Wide Sustainability Imagery

The office of Energy and Sustainability RECOMMENDS the approval of the following resolution:

Whereas, a wide variety of supportive images are currently used on campus to indicate sustainability initiatives, and resources are unnecessarily used in the development of new imagery as new initiatives are formed;

Whereas, there is an opportunity to communicate to the campus community, alumni, and community members through consistent imagery about how Cornell is involved in many facets of sustainability;

Be it resolved that, the University Assembly recommends that the university engage key stakeholders from across academics, student groups, operations, and Cooperative Extension in a process to identify common communications needs and create a ‘unified look and feel’ for sustainability initiatives at Cornell University. The University Assembly requests that University Communications initiate such a university wide treatment to be ready for use in March 2011 for Sustainability Month in April.

Respectfully Submitted,

Michael J. Walsh
University Sustainability Committee, Chair.
