UA: January 16, 2012 Letter from President Skorton Regarding R. 4: Recommendation to Cancel the University's Affiliation and Financial Support of the Fair Labor Association (FLA)

Dear Melissa,

Thank you for forwarding U.A. Resolution #4, Recommendation to Cancel the University’s Affiliation and Financial Support of the Fair Labor Association (FLA). I understand that the Cornell Chapter of United Students Against Sweatshops, the organization which authored this resolution, has discussed the concerns at issue in the resolution with Mike Powers, who oversees our apparel licensing operations, and Vice Presidents Bruce and Murphy and that they will resume their discussions at greater length in the spring semester.

I look forward to hearing the results of those conversations before making a decision regarding our present affiliation with the FLA.
