2003 AY Action 01 Text
Resolution in Support of Participation in the Task Force Investigating the Formation of a University Club
Whereas, at present, faculty and staff do not have a place centrally located on campus to socialize, interact and avail themselves of a full range of dinning and programming opportunities, and
Whereas, the President and Provost have charged the University Club Task Force to “develop a plan for a more vital and appealing university club on the campus” , and
Whereas, one of the stated goals that the University Club Task Force envisions for a University Club is “to forge a social unity and increase the satisfaction, effectiveness and cohesiveness of its faculty and staff”and
Whereas, any such venture, if it is to be successful, will require the support of both faculty and staff,
Be it therefore resolved, that the Employee Assembly supports the University Club Task Force as it investigates establishing a University Club at Cornell University that fulfills the present and future needs of its faculty and staff members, and
Be it finally resolved, that the Employee Assembly encourage staff members (via Paw Print and listservs) to sign a petition in support of employee participation in the University Club Task Force investigating establishing a University Club at Cornell University.
Respectfully submitted,
