Employee Assembly Meeting
February 2, 2005

Attendance

Present: Joseph DeMarco, Pamela Dusseau, Donna Goss, Nathaniel Guest, Hazel Hall, Janice Miles, Mary Smallwood Churchill, Cindy Williams

Excused: William Bryant, Beth Burlew, Meredith Graham, Leon Lawrence, Patricia Mahoney

Unexcused:

Others present: T. Bishop, L. Chappell-Williams, L. Haas-Manley, L. Starr, K. Howell

I. Call to order:

P. Dusseau, Chair, called the meeting to order at 12:15 PM.

II. Call for late Additions:

There were no late additions to the agenda.

III. Approval of minutes:

Minutes were not approved due to lack of quorum at the time.

IV. Report from the Chair

� Met with Susan Murphy last week to discuss the use of the terms professional and unprofessional when describing staff.

� Gave an update on the farewell reception for Hope and said that EA was not really represented there since members who attended were also on the UA.

� Reminded members to send their Social Network contact information.

� Diane Kubarek, Director of the Office of Web Communications, will attend the next EA meeting.

� Doing an information session with Campus Life next week to talk about Campus Life issues.

V. Unfinished Business

A. EA insert in PawPrint
J. DeMarco said that they are still working on it. The pieces that they were hoping to get from others are not coming in as fast as they had hoped. A Decision was made to postpone the insert until March 3.

VI. Committee Reports

There were none.

VII. New Business

A. New Member Appointment
J. Demarco said that Leon Lawrence is the new member of the EA.

B. Election Calendar
J. DeMarco read the dates of what will be happening for the EA election. T. Bishop will email the final draft to all members and it will be available on the EA website.

C. ”A Fireside Chat with Kathy Okun”
P. Dusseau reminded everyone that the forum with Kathy Okun is on February 11 at noon in the Memorial Room, WSH. She passed quarter cards around the room and encouraged people to hand them out.

VIII. Guest Speakers

A. Office of Workforce Diversity Equality & Life Quality (L. Chappell- Williams & L. Haas-Manley)
B. Employee Assistance Program (L. Starr)
C. Wellness (K. Howell)

Each speaker gave a short presentation.
