Resolution 8: Career Opportunities Committee, Appreciation

WHEREAS, feedback from the 2011 Employee Engagement Survey of the Cornell Employee community revealed a need to provide employees with better opportunities for career development and growth.

WHEREAS, it was determined that there was a need to to identify measures that will better support our talented staff who have expressed interest in career growth. Creation of a comprehensive talent model, job rotations, mentoring and individual career services are key areas to be addressed.

WHEREAS, a committee was created to address this need and to create recommendations on career development and growth.

WHEREAS, this committee was comprised of volunteers who gave their time, energy and passion to support the creation of recommendations to improve career development and growth across campus.

BE IT SO RESOLVED, the Employee Assembly (“the Assembly”) expresses its appreciation and heartfelt gratitude for the members of the Career Opportunities committee in creating recommendations that will support this key area of need that was addressed in the Employee Engagement Survey.

BE IT SO RESOLVED, the Assembly would like to publically recognize the following members of the Career Opportunities Committee for their contributions to the final recommendations submitted to President Skorton and Vice President of Human Resources and Safety Services, Mary Opperman.
