WHEREAS, the campus assemblies are university organizations chartered by the President of the university. They are established to serve as vehicles of communication between the administration of the university and broader campus community affected by the institutions practices and policies.

WHEREAS, the Employee Assembly makes recommendations to the appropriate university administrators concerning the University’s personnel policies and other university policies affecting the employment environment at Cornell. The assembly also provides a mechanism for the informal exchange of information and views between employees and university administrators.

WHEREAS, Brigitt Schaffner has served the employee community through the Employee Assembly since June 1, 2011 and in that time held such positions as Vice Chair Of the Employee Assembly, UA Representative, Chair Campus Infrastructure Committee, Survey Response Team Member and Chair of the Employee Assembly. RESOLVED, the Employee Assembly expresses its appreciation and heartfelt gratitude for Brigitt Schaffner’ s extensive work in creating and promoting a campus where employee contributions are recognized and voices are heard.

RESOLVED, the Assembly would like to publically recognize and thank Brigitt for her work as Employee Assembly Chair.
