III. Business of the Day

Allocation/Appeals/Attendance

J. Zielinski started by stating what the allocation results were that were released today. He said that Club Sports were capped at $4800, and cut 45% if they were between $500 and $4800. Single groups were capped at $8000, and cut 10% if they were between $500 and $8000. Co-orgs were capped at $8000 and cut 20% if they were between $500 and $8000. He also said that they SAFC saved $30,000 for appeals and $15,000 for special projects. He announced that office hours are tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday in 114 Day Hall on Tuesday, and Willard Straight Hall on Wednesday and Thursday. He also passed around a signup sheet for office hours and a sign up sheet for food during appeals.

S. McQuilkin said that appeals were this Saturday from 11am-1pm. She asked that all commissioners arrive at 10:30am, and all commissioners need to be at these appeals because the SAFC needs quorum to vote on the appeals. She said the overall time that would be required would be from 10:30am to 4pm. She added that the e-board will be meeting Monday to write out the appeal results and send them to the groups. She asked that all commissioners wear their t-shirts. She next went over the process of turning in an appeal. She said the appeals were due Thursday at 4:30pm, and that groups can only appeal under three categories: new information, SAFC error, and discrimination. After the appeals, the groups have a couple of weeks to appeal to the SA. These groups budgets first go to the Appropriations Committee, then on to the SA.

A. Nunez asked what special projects were.

S. McQuilkin responded by saying that special projects were like new info under appeals, but much, much later in the semester. An example she used was a sports team making it to the finals. She said that only the e-board looks at them, and that these are generally a luxury because during some semesters, there is not enough money for special projects. Lastly, Ms. McQuilkin encouraged anyone that was interested in running for next years Executive Board, to speak with current E-board members. She added that there will be no meeting next week, and the meetings from now on will generally deal with changes to the P&T handbook.

S. Pepper said that Ashwin Phadnis is being brought up for attendance violations. He said that Mr. Phadnis has missed every meeting, every help session, and every budget hearing. Mr. Pepper also said that Mr. Phadnis never returned any of his emails.

Vote: Yes to remove Ashwin Phadnis from the Commission: 21, No: 2.
ASHWIN PHADNIS IS OFF THE COMMISSION
