III. Business of the Day

Introductions/ Help session sign-ups/ Budget guidelines review

The SAFC started the first meeting of the semester with introductions and an icebreaker.

Co-chairs L. Rosenblum and D. Gusz reacquainted the commissioners with the rest of the executive board and their positions.

E. Diakow discussed the attendance policy point system.

L. Rosenblum said that the commission will be holding an Electronic Budget Help Session on Thursday, September 2 from 4:45pm to 6:00pm in B30A Mann library. She explained that the purpose of this is to teach the new presidents and treasurers of clubs how to fill out their budget application online, and that it is required that the e-board and new commissioners attend.

D. Gusz added that any older commissioners who cannot come to two of the budget help sessions next week from 4:30pm to 5:30 pm on September 7, 8 and 9 in B12 Day Hall are also required to attend the Electronic Budget Help Session.

L. Rosenblum said that the commissioners will receive their SAFC polos and binders at the first help session. She said that she will email everyone a link of the Guidelines, and encouraged the commissioners to reacquaint themselves with the policies before the help sessions.

J. Marder said that after the Electronic Budget Help sessions he will be holding an SAFC Guidelines review session for new commissioners from 6:00pm to about 6:30pm. He said he will be going over any questions, and will also a make a condensed sheet of the guidelines for more convenient use during the budget hearings.

D. Gusz said that everyone should plan to attend at least five of the six budget hearings. He said that there will not be a meeting next Monday because of Labor Day, but tentatively will be holding a SAFC barbeque.

R. Kishore went over food preferences for the upcoming SAFC events.

D. Gusz asked if anyone had any further questions.

IV. Meeting was adjourned at 5:30 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,
