- Alcohol cannot be used in new member recruitment
- No hazing
- Shorten pledging (will set cap)
- Counterargument
- Frats say this would undermine their ability to recruit members and will lead to unsafe drinking off campus
- Policy has not been written or made publicly available for everyone yet
- Timeframe: N/A
- Will go to Board of Trustees this October to settle
- Main Concerns
- Lack of large venues on North Campus
- Need alternatives for students on Friday/Saturday nights
- Possibility of increased drinking in dorms
- Need a variety of events to keep students satisfied

- Want to review what is going on with policy and impact on undergrads
- Not opposed to policy, but want undergrads involved in implementation process
- Alternative Activities for Students
- Reed ‘14 (Low Rise 6)
- Lack of movie rental options on campus
- Red Boxes in RPCC, Appel, and/or Noyes
- No up-to-date rentals at Olin
- Netflix is sometimes too costly for students
- Good alternative for parties, etc.
- Hold events away from North so people still feel like they are going somewhere

- Have lots of great night events
- Need better promotion methods

- Cornell guarantees housing to Freshmen and Sophomores
- It is a problem when sophomores left out due to bad time slots
- For next year’s housing, rising sophomores have first choice
- Goal: Resolve misconceptions of changes to Housing Lottery Process

- Focus on getting the word out there early on to minimize confusion for students
- Possible Outcomes (Burke)
- More sophomores on west (less juniors and seniors)
- Empty beds (seniors will simply opt out)
- Will not affect in-house lottery system
- Cornell sets aside 100 beds for continuous occupants
- Cornell guarantees housing to Freshmen and Sophomores
- Late Night Bus/Shuttle Services
