      • Three Main Points
      • Alcohol cannot be used in new member recruitment
      • No hazing
      • Shorten pledging (will set cap)
    • Counterargument
      • Frats say this would undermine their ability to recruit members and will lead to unsafe drinking off campus
      • Policy has not been written or made publicly available for everyone yet
      • Timeframe: N/A
        • Will go to Board of Trustees this October to settle
      • Main Concerns
        • Lack of large venues on North Campus
        • Need alternatives for students on Friday/Saturday nights
        • Possibility of increased drinking in dorms
        • Need a variety of events to keep students satisfied
  • Students’ Stand on the Issue

      • Material has not been printed yet (Burke)
      • Focus on getting the word out there early on to minimize confusion for students
    • Possible Outcomes (Burke)
      • More sophomores on west (less juniors and seniors)
      • Empty beds (seniors will simply opt out)
      • Will not affect in-house lottery system
