- SACCL Meeting — Friday, Nov. 18 @ 3–4:30 PM (Garden Room, WSH)
- Guest Speaker: Svante Myrick
III. Smoking Behavior Investigation
- A report must be drafted by end of semester
- Goals of ResLife
- NOT to ban smoking
- Simply investigate smoking behavior at Cornell
IV. ResLife Representation Initiative
- Goals
- Increase student participation in affairs
- Create sustainable structure
- Maintain all current relations with national contacts
- Current Plan of Action
- Collaboratively looking at current plan and drafting an alternative plan with the RSC
V. Undocumented Students
- 3 Prong Approach
- JAMIC — Dream Act Endorsement
- ResLife — Safe Spaces Resolution
- Similar to LGBTQ community system of safe spaces (i.e. stickers on doors)
- Questions to ask and think about
- Need to figure out what this policy will look like
- Include professors, support staff, and residential staff?
- What kind of training would be required?
- What are the costs going to look like?
- Where would these safe spaces be located? What kind of strategic placement should be implemented?
- Who do we contact?
- JAFARC — Financial Aid reform for undocumented students
- 4th Possible Resolution
- A letter written by undocumented Cornellians, urging President Skorton to guide the institution in showing more active support for undocumented students/DREAM Act
