Resolution Approving Nominations to University Hearing and Review Boards
Whereas, the University Assembly (UA) is tasked to “select the members of the Hearing and Review Boards” per the UA Charter; and
Whereas, the Codes and Judicial Committee of the UA (CJC) has interviewed candidates for openings of student seats on the University Hearing and Review Boards; and
Whereas, the CJC has scored and ranked the candidates on a scale of 10 to 2 with 10 being the highest possible score and 2 being a recommendation to reject the candidate; and
Whereas, the CJC has ranked the candidates as follows:
Score of 10 (highest possible): No candidates
Score of 9: David Harwitt, Jessica Saba, Kayla De Leon, Folajimi Fowose
Score of 8: Amanda Chan, Christa Nianiatus
Score of 7.5: Randall Ochs
Score of 7: Talia Bronfin, Saba Vahdat, Philip Andriole, Shayra Kamal, Tyler Ehrlich, Shipeng Fu
Score of 6: Gabrielle Fernandez, Matthew Spiers, Ariel Kaplan
Score of 5: Deborah Fisher, Kimberly Wang, Sheela George, Raj Kannappan
Score of 4: No candidates.
Score of 3: No candidates.
Score of 2 (not recommended for service): No candidates
; and
Whereas, the CJC has unanimously resolved to fill any student openings on the boards with these candidates in accordance with the following priorities (in order of decreasing priority): (1) availability, (2) ranking/score, (3) in a manner consistent with maintaining a diverse and inclusive pool of board members, but only insofar as to break a tie between available and equally ranked/scored candidates; and
Whereas, the Office of Assemblies has yet to determine the number of current student openings for the pool of board members; and
Be it therefore resolved, that any student openings on the board be filled in accordance with the herein described recommendations of the CJC.
