Cornell Store Resolution

PART I

WHEREAS the Cornell Store receives the book lists for courses well in advance;

WHEREAS these book lists are not readily available to vendors other than the Cornell Store;

WHEREAS students do not have easy access to these book lists well in advance to prepare and get more affordable books;

WHEREAS the University Assembly has the delegated authority to obtain data, reports, and reasoned explanations from university officials;

BE IT RESOLVED that a representative from the Cornell Store explain to the UA the current procedure in attaining booklists and distributing them.

PART II

WHEREAS the Cornell Store’s financial model is ambiguous to the Assembly, to which may or “may not be in the students’ best financial interest” as stated in the University Assembly Minutes on April 13,2011;

WHEREAS the Assembly seeks to create a more affordable medium through which professors may teach and students may learn;

WHEREAS the University Assembly has the delegated authority to obtain data, reports, and reasoned explanations from university officials;

BE IT RESOLVED that a representative from the Cornell Store explain to the UA the financial model of the Cornell Store.
