Dear President Skorton,

It is with pleasure that I convey to you UA Resolution 5, “Support for the Office of the University Ombudsman.”

This resolution was sponsored by Vice Chair Matthew Battaglia on behalf of the entire University Assembly and was passed at our meeting of March 24, 2015.

The Resolution declares the University Assembly’s support for the creation, funding and hiring of a new, full-time Assistant Ombudsman, and calls upon President-elect Garrett to meet with the University Ombudsman within her first six-months in office with the express goal of understanding the vital role the Ombudsman’s Office performs at Cornell, and to fully consider our request to hire a new, full-time Assistant Ombudsman.
