Joining the Committee

The committee has a total of 17 voting members, 3 ex-officio, non-voting members, and 1 non-voting liaison from the UA. Except where otherwise specified, members serve three-year, staggered terms.

Undergraduate Students

Two voting positions are open to undergraduate students. Terms are two years in length and staggered.

Two voting positions are open to graduate and professional students. Terms are two years in length and staggered.

Two voting positions are open to employees.

Employees (non-academic or non-professorial academic staff) wishing to join this committee should apply online:

Faculty

Two voting positions are open to faculty.

Except where otherwise indicated, faculty positions on assemblies committees are staffed by the Faculty Senate. Since the Faculty Senate is external to the Office of the Assemblies, please inquire directly through the following address if you are a member of Cornell faculty and are interested in serving on an assemblies committee:

University Assembly Members

The UA appoints a liaison from its membership to serve as a non-voting member of this committee.

Position Appointments

The following five people are voting members of the committee by virtue of their appointed position in the university:

  • Assistant deans or chief business officers, one representing each of the following college categories:
    • designated,
    • endowed general purpose, and
    • statutory
  • Vice President for Finance and Treasurer
  • Vice President for Planning

Ex-Officio Members

The following university staff serve as ex-officio, non-voting members of this committee:

  • Director of Institutional Planning and Research
  • Director of Budget Management
  • Director of Statutory College Affairs

Administrative Appointments

The Provost of the university staff four positions.
