Student Assembly

Introduced Thursday, 31 August 2006.

Whereas, the Student Assembly is the undergraduate student body�s voice at Cornell;

Whereas, undergraduate students have always been concerned with improving the meal plans that are available through Cornell Dining;

Whereas, Cornell Dining/Campus Life has always been amenable to input from the Student Assembly and wishes to meet the needs of all Cornell students;

Whereas, the Student Assembly Dining Committee has the ability to review meal plans offered by Cornell Dining and work to create change within them, as necessary;

Whereas, Cornell once had meal equivalencies, which were a way of compensating students who were enrolled in meal plans but who did not use all of their meals in an �All-You-Care-To-Eat� dining hall to receive food from an a-la-carte dining location instead;

Be it therefore resolved that the Student Assembly Dining Committee pledge to explore why meal equivalencies were taken away, and if there is any possibility of bringing them or a form of them back;

Be it further resolved that the Student Assembly Dining Committee also pledge to explore alternative methods of compensating students who may not use up all of their meals in a given week;

Be it finally resolved that the Student Assembly Dining Committee report back to the Student Assembly by the end of the Fall �06 semester with the progress that has been made with regards to this issue.
