R.14 Resolution Clarifying Slope Day Funding

Originally Presented On:February 14, 2008
Sponsors:Adam Gay, Ryan Lavin, Elan Greenberg
Subject of Resolution:Clarification of Slope Day Funding
Status/Result:-

Whereas, the Student Assembly is charged with the allocation and oversight of the Student Activity Fee;

Whereas, the Appendix B of the Student Assembly Charter stipulates how by-line funded organizations can utilize SAF funds;

Whereas, Section IV.k. of the Appendix B of the Student Assembly Charter stipulates that:

The Slope Day Programming Board will be tasked to charge graduate students who want to gain entrance to Slope Day activities, unless the GPSA funds the Slope Day Programming Board at an equitable amount. The amount that GPSA funds Slope Day should be proportional to their participation in Slope Day activities. This provision will be in effect for the 2006—2008 SAF cycle.

Whereas, the GPSA does not fund the Slope Day Programming Board at an equitable amount;

Whereas, Graduate Students who entered Slope Day 2007 did not have to pay a fee;

Whereas, pursuant to Appendix B Section II.e. of the Student Assembly Charter:

The SA Vice-President for Finance shall be charged with investigation of all accusations regarding violations of these guidelines and will report such findings to the SA;

Be it therefore resolved that the Slope Day Programming Board charge a fee of $12.00 to each Graduate Student who enters Slope Day 2008;

Be it further resolved that the Student Assembly will work with the Slope Day Programming Board and Slope Day Steering Committee in support of this mandate;

Be it finally resolved that this resolution be sent to the Slope Day Programming Board, Slope Day Steering Committee, the Office of the Dean of Students, and the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly.

Respectfully submitted,

Adam Gay
Vice President for Finance

Ryan Lavin
