Student Assembly

Whereas, the Student Assembly has not done a comprehensive review of its charter since May 2004,

Whereas, incongruities, ambiguities, and inaccuracies may exist in the charter,

Whereas, the charter may be inconsistent with the charters of other bodies to which it refers,

Whereas, the charter itself presented inconsistencies within itself that needed to be corrected,

Whereas, the 2006–2007 Student Assembly chartered an Ad-Hoc Committee through Resolution 33, with the charge of, “examining the Student Assembly charter for incongruities, ambiguities, and inaccuracies that may arise between the charter and itself or other charters and to propose changes to the charter to restore harmony”,

Whereas, the aforementioned committee was chaired by ‘06-‘07 SA Parliamentarian Mazdak Asgary ‘08, and included as members Ahmed Salem ‘08 (then-SA Voting Member), Andrew Wang ‘08 (then-community member), Elan Greenberg ‘08 (then-SA VP of IOPs), Ryan Lavin ‘09 (then-SA voting member), and Rammy Salem ‘10 (then-voting SA member),

Whereas, the aforementioned committee has included its findings (all of which were decided with the unanimous agreement of all committee members), which are attached to this resolution, as either changes (with rationales also included) or commentaries for future assemblies to consider,

Be it therefore resolved, that the SA consider each change proposed by the aforementioned committee and vote upon them individually.
