R.19 Transfer Ad-Hoc Committee

Originally Presented On:Thursday, January 22, 2009
Sponsors:Andrew Brokman and Nikhil Kumar
Subject of Resolution:Transfer Ad-Hoc Committee
Status/Result:Passed by a roll call vote of 19–0−2

Whereas, transfers experience a unique process of building new relationships and adjusting to Cornell life.

Whereas, there has not been an active transfer committee in many years.

Whereas, the transfer community is more geographically divided, and therefore less able to voice common interests.

Whereas, a transfer committee would be better equipped to address the needs and concerns of the growing transfer community.

Be it therefore resolved, that the Student Assembly creates an ad-hoc committee, the Committee on Transfer Affairs, and charges it with the responsibility of initiating and implementing transfer related activities and legislation. The Committee on Transfer Affairs is to be chaired by the Transfer Representative on the Student Assembly. Ex-officio members will include: Chair of the Campus Life Student Advisory Committee, Chair of the Student Assembly Committee on Residential and Community Life, Residential Programs Director, and the Vice President for Student and Academic Services.

Respectfully submitted,

Andrew Brokman
Transfer Representative At-Large
