R. 43 Panhellenic Council and Committee on Women's Issues

As adopted on Thursday, 23 April 2009.

Whereas the Panhellenic association promotes women’s advocacy,

Whereas the Panhellenic Association is made up of 23% of undergraduate women, totaling over 1600 members.

Whereas the Panhellenic Association represents a diverse cross-section of the undergraduate women at Cornell University

Whereas the Student Assembly’s Committee on Women’s Issues would greatly benefit from the inclusion of a member from the Panhellenic Association

Be it therefore resolved that Bylaw 7.8.a.2, which currently states, “The Committee size shall not exceed fourteen total members, nor shall it exceed eight voting members” shall now read, “The Committee size shall not exceed fifteen total members, nor shall it exceed nine voting members”.

Be it further resolved that Bylaw 7.8.a.2 include the addition of a voting member from the Panhellenic Association with regards to its composition so that the Bylaw shall now read, “The Student Assembly in conjunction with the President of the Panhellenic Council shall appoint a voting member to the committee from the membership of the Panhellenic Association.”.

Respectfully submitted,

J. Anthony Miller
Vice President of Internal Operations

Alison Ewing
President, Panhellenic Council
