Student Assembly

Whereas, the TCAT bus system gives over 2 million rides to Cornell students and staff every year;

Whereas, there are a number of construction projects occurring around the Cornell campus and the immediate area;

Whereas, situations arise that call for TCAT to change particular bus routes because of road closures, etc;

Whereas, frequent riders in the Cornell community are not always aware of these sometimes abrupt changes;

Whereas, there is currently a Special Conditions listserv that is used to communicate a variety of notifications to the student population;

Whereas, the information on this listserv is only available to those who have subscribed to this listserv;

Be it therefore resolved, that information regarding abrupt changes in routes for buses that frequent the Cornell campus be communicated to the Cornell undergraduate community via the Special Conditions listserv or another University listserv;

Be it further resolved, that this includes, but is not limited to, future road closures, construction projects, inclement weather, and/or discontinuance of service for a particular route;

Be it finally resolved, that all member of the Cornell community be automatically subscribed to the Special Conditions listserv.
