Resolution 24

Whereas, Cornell’s motto is “Any Person Any Study” ;

Whereas, currently some minors such as Agribusiness Management, Applied Economics, Environmental & Resource Economics, and any miners within the College of Engineering are only open to students of specific colleges, clearly defying our motto;

Whereas, students in other colleges can take all required classes and yet not officially receive the minor;

Whereas, Students may pursue minors in any department in any college that offers them, subject to limitations placed by the department offering the minor or by the student’s major

Whereas, students want the ability to come to Cornell and study whatever they want without administrative constraints;

Whereas, the administration must be responsive to student’s desires, especially regarding academic programs

Be it therefore resolved, All current and future minors be opened to undergraduates of all colleges;

Be it finally resolved, Any undergraduate who fulfills the curricular minor requirements as well as any supplementary requirements be officially recognized as completing the said program and be granted the minor in question.
