Resolution 28

Whereas, the Appropriations Committee voted that the SAFC did not err in denying funding to SAFE for their “Captain Condom” costumes by a vote of 0–13–1, and the SAFC decision will stand. The committee felt that since the SAFC guidelines indicate that costume purchases are not funded, the “Captain Condom” costume should not be funded;

The Appropriations Committee voted that the SAFC did not err in denying funding to SAFE for their arts quad display by a vote of 0–14–0, and the SAFC decision will stand. The committee felt that since no price quote was included, the SAFC did not err in denying funding;

The committee wanted to also note that since the group’s officers failed to attend their assigned hearing and were unresponsive to multiple communications about meeting with the committee, the results of the SAFC appeal were determined using the group’s appeal request;

Be it therefore resolved that, the Assembly adopt the following:

  • The SAFC did not err in denying funding to SAFE for their “Captain Condom” costume, and the SAFC decision shall stand;
  • The SAFC did not err in denying funding to SAFE for their arts quad display items, and the SAFC decision shall stand;

Be it further resolved that, the SAFC shall only allocate money if all other funding criteria not considered by the Appropriations Committee are met, including funding caps or other guidelines issues.

Respectfully Submitted,
