Resolution 29

Whereas, the Appropriations Committee voted that the SAFC did err in denying funding to The Chordials for the royalty fees and intellectual property needed to record its music by a vote of 10–1−1. The committee felt that the intellectual property was a valid request and the SAFC guidelines state that groups may apply for copyright fees, which applies to The Chordials’ request;

Be it therefore resolved that, the Assembly adopt the following:

  • The SAFC did err in denying to The Chordials and their intellectual property request shall be considered valid;

Be it further resolved that, the SAFC shall only allocate money if all other funding criteria not considered by the Appropriations Committee are met, including funding caps or other guidelines issues.

Respectfully Submitted,
