Student Assembly

Whereas The Cornell Delegation of The Ivy Council has become a registered student organization and will no longer serve as a committee of the Student Assembly;

Whereas The Student Assembly appoints liaisons to various student organizations on campus to strengthen the student voice and presence;

Whereas the policy liaisons for The Ivy Council is responsible for being well-versed in all matters of student government at their respective institutions and are in charge of submitting information for the biannual policy reports to be dispersed to the administration and student body;

Be it therefore resolved that the policy liaison for the Cornell Delegation is directly appointed from the Student Assembly,

Be it therefore resolved that Article VII; Section II of the Student Assembly bylaws is amended to read as follows:

Section 2: Ivy Council

The Ivy Council is comprised of representatives from all eight Ivy League school’s undergraduate student governments whose delegates meet biannually to discuss matters of importance to the member schools, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the student governments of the member institutions, to provide a unified voice for the Ivy League student governments, and to further students’ initiative in making a positive impact on the global community. The membership of the Cornell delegation shall include a head delegate policy liaison who shall be selected from the Student Assembly during the Spring organizational meeting as well as three additional voting delegates to be selected by the Staffing Committee and introduce themselves to the Executive Board members of the Cornell delegation of Ivy Council before the beginning of the following Fall Semester, so to be involved with the following year’s planning. Additional provisions for the delegation are as specified in the Constitution of the Ivy Council
