Special Projects Request

APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE REPORT

Organization: MOAAP Special Project Request
Date: March 10th, 2011
Amount: $1,000 from SA Special Projects

The Appropriations Committee voted to fund MOAAP for their Arts, Eats & Beats event a total of $1,000 by a vote of 7–0−1. The committee felt that the event would be a good opportunity for AAP students to meet each other as well as SA representatives to engage with the AAP community. The $1,000 special project will go towards covering the cost of the artist honorarium for the “Beats” part of the event. The group has committed to working with the Student Assembly to ensure engagement opportunities for representatives including participation in the mural painting and offering a dedicated table for SA representatives.

Generally, the goal of SA Special Projects is to further the goals of the Assembly. The SA has specifically requested that organizations it contributes funds to work with representatives to improve engagement opportunities to diverse communities. Special project requests between $500 and $1500 must be passed by a majority of the Appropriations Committee and may be overturned by a 2/3 vote of the full Student Assembly as per the SA Standing Rules, section IV.
