Resolution 2: Adding a Student Seat to the Education Policy Committee

Whereas, the Educational Policy Committee is chartered to address policies related to “instruction that concern more than one college, school or separate academic unit including grades and grading policies, preliminary and final examination policies, university-wide academic requirements, academic calendar, class schedules and hours of instruction”.

Whereas, the Educational Policy Committee created a Resolution passed by the Senate on May 2011 to remove the publishing of median grades on the Internet.

Whereas, the Educational Policy Committee has no student representation on its board.

Whereas, the Educational Policy Committee did not consult the Student Assembly before making its decision.

Be it therefore resolved, that the Student Assembly recommends that the Educational Policy Committee add a student representative seat to its committee to ensure that the student voice on educational policy issues in the future is heard.

Respectfully submitted,
