Resolution 3: Re-Establishment of the Greek-LGBTQ Relations Ad-Hoc Committee

Whereas, much attention on campus has been devoted to issues within the Cornell Greek community relating to the overlap with the LGBTQ community and the joint challenges among them,

Whereas, the Student Assembly created the Greek-LGBTQ Relations Ad-Hoc Committee through Resolution 27 in the Fall of 2010,

Whereas, this Ad-Hoc committee has since identified a variety of goals to further the positive relationship between the two communities,

Be it therefore resolved, that the Greek-LGBTQ Ad-Hoc Committee be re-established to continue identifying and exploring the challenges facing Greek-LGBTQ relations on campus

Be it further resolved, that the ad-hoc committee be chaired by the Student Assembly LGBTQ Representative At-Large and include one representative each from the Dean of Students’ Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, the LGBT Resource Center, the InterFraternity Council Executive Board, the Pan-Hellenic Council Executive Board, the Multicultural Greek Letter Council Executive Board, HAVEN: The LGBTQ Student Union; and two members of the community.

Respectfully Submitted,

Nate Treffeisen, ‘12
