Whereas, the Student Assembly created the Safety Task Force

Whereas, the Safety Task Force has continued to meet throughout the year and has sought to improve the quality of life of students on Campus and in the greater Ithaca community

Whereas, the Task Force has determined that late night transportation can be improved by taking additional measures to ensure student safety.

Be it therefore resolved, that the SA supports the creation of a “Never Walk Alone” smartphone app to serve as another way in which students can feel comfortable, as well as protected when traveling to and from different destinations on campus.The “Never Walk Alone” app will allow students to find other students who are heading in the same direction that they are heading. Since there is safety in numbers, this will allow students to get to their destination safely.
