Student Assembly

Dear Adam,

Thank you for communicating Student Assembly Resolution 46 In Favor of an Inclusive Book Policy. I appreciate the Assembly’s concern for full access to academic material on the part of all students.

As you note, the Faculty Senate has a critical role to play vis a vis academic polieis, and thus it is appropriate for me to direct this resolution to the Dean of the Faculty, with whom I am sharing by a copy of this communications. I will ask Dean Burns to arrange a conversation between the leadership of the Senate, perhaps its Educational Policy Committee or whatever group Dean Burns deems appropriate, and the leadership of the Student Assembly to review the Assembly’s concerns and consider its suggestions for promoting an inclusive book policy. I hope that such a meeting can happen early in the fall semester.
