Letter to President RE: Resolutions 29 and 30

Dear President Skorton,

I would like to formally communicate to you SA resolutions 29 and 30.

R. 29 is a product of the Community Life Committee, and is sponsored by CALS Representative Matt Henderson and CLC Environmental Task Force Chair Emma Johnston. This sense-of-the-body resolution calls for student supported Net-Print policy changes for CIT and the individual departments with their own Net-Print printers. Recommendations include dual pricing, using 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper in all printing locations, and making double-sided the default printing setting on all lab and personal computers that use the Net-Print software. The final clause stipulates that the resolution and accompanying letter be forwarded to CIT’s Net-Print Division as well as the departments with their own Net-Print printers.

R.30 is a recommendation to the Dean of the College of Human Ecology, and is the result of a partnership between SA Human Ecology Representative Ian Harris and the Dean’s Undergraduate Advisory Council. The resolution calls for a new Net-Print station to be strategically located in the college to better serve the students who frequent MVR. One clause stipulates that the resolution be forwarded to the Dean of Human Ecology, the Assistant Dean, and CIT.

Both resolutions and their attachments are included for your reference.

Regards,

Ulysses
