Student Assembly

Dear Ulysses,

I understand that Cornell staff already are exploring the possibility of implementing a system that will allow students to use their CUID cards on the TCAT buses, as described in Resolution 54. TCAT has been willing to work with us on this endeavor, and I am pleased that the Student Assembly is supportive of this change.

I agree that restorative justice practices could be a useful complement to the existing resources that address bias, conflict resolution, and student conduct on our campus. Recognizing that “the approach has been in early development stages,” I am returning Resolution 55 for reconsideration, and ask that SA representatives collaborate with Dean of Students staff, and others as appropriate, to explore this idea further and come forth with recommendations for next steps.
